The Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, has fulfilled his pledge to install a solar lighting system at the Maru Town Second Jumu’at Mosque.
The project, completed on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, gulped about N12 million. It was delivered two days ahead of the one-week deadline given by the lawmaker.
Hon. Zannan made the pledge last Friday after observing Jumu’at prayers at the mosque, during a condolence visit to the family of the late Mande Sarkin Gobir.
The mosque committee had at the time appealed to him to provide a solar power system to complement the existing generator at the newly constructed mosque.
In response, the lawmaker directed immediate commencement of the project and assured that it would be completed before the next Friday prayers “Insha Allahu.”
According to a statement signed by his Chief Image Maker, Aminu Lawal, the installation includes 16 units of advanced bifacial solar panels, 4 lithium batteries, an advanced hybrid inverter, and other allied accessories. The system provides 4.5 KVA of solar power to the mosque.
With the completion, the Maru Town Second Jumu’at Mosque is now enjoying uninterrupted solar lighting.
The lawmaker described the project as part of his commitment to support religious institutions and improve community infrastructure across Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency.
