Former Chairman of Gusau Local Government Council, Engr. Babangida Abdullahi, has described allegations against Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as “baseless and unfounded,” saying critics are afraid of his possible emergence as Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Danfako Media in Gusau on Tuesday, Engr. Abdullahi said the attacks were targeted at the Senator because of his capacity to lead the President’s campaign machinery ahead of 2027.
“All these allegations are baseless and unfounded. They are targeted at Senator Yari because of his possible emergence as President Tinubu’s DG Campaign. It has nothing to do with his integrity,” he said.
According to him, Senator Yari has a verifiable track record of service and an unquestionable character, built during his two terms as Governor of Zamfara State.
“It is a tradition among mischievous politicians to use social media to target the image of their opponents. That will not work for Senator Abdulaziz Yari,” the former chairman stated.
Engr. Abdullahi recalled that critics began their blackmail campaign against Senator Yari the moment they observed his capacity to lead President Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
He stressed that the Senator is a man of integrity, and that such blackmail campaigns would have no impact on his political standing.
