Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto, has donated 145 trucks of maize and 42,000 bags of 10kg Semovita to Internally Displaced Persons and vulnerable households across Zamfara State.
The disclosure was made by the Chairman of the Senator AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar Palliative Distribution Committee, Hon. Lawal M. Liman, PhD, after the committee’s meeting in Gusau on Saturday, August 1st, 2026.
According to Dr. Liman, each of the 14 Local Government Areas in the state will receive 10 trucks of maize and 3,000 bags of Semovita.
He said a total of 210,000 beneficiaries have been targeted across the 147 political wards in the state.
Dr. Liman added that the donation is aimed at cushioning the hardship being faced by IDPs and vulnerable households, especially during this mid-term season.
He also called on the people of Zamfara to intensify prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator AbdulAziz Yari for God’s guidance in tackling insecurity in Northern Nigeria.
The Committee says it remains committed to ensuring transparent and timely distribution of the items.
