My acquaintance with Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari has convinced me that he is one of the strongest pillars of Northern Nigerian politics. His life in public service serves as a blueprint for consistency, patience, dedication, and results. His rise to prominence was not an overnight achievement but the product of years of hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to public service.
Throughout his political career, Senator Yari has served in various capacities with diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility. He has consistently worked to promote justice, unity, fairness, and peaceful coexistence while striving to strengthen the bonds among the people of Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
As an indigene of Zamfara State who actively participated in politics, I was on the opposition side from 1999 to 2023. Despite our political differences, I can not deny the remarkable developmental projects executed during Senator Yari’s tenure as Governor of Zamfara State. At the time, many of us in the opposition viewed these achievements through political lenses, believing they were intended to weaken the opposition. However, with hindsight, it is evident that many of those projects significantly improved the lives of the people of the state.
I have always admired Senator Yari for his unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of the people of Zamfara through impactful programmes and humanitarian interventions that continue to bring hope and opportunities to countless families across the state and beyond.
His numerous philanthropic initiatives, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, have benefited hundreds of thousands of people across the fourteen Local Government Areas of Zamfara State. These interventions include the distribution of food items, grains, clothing materials, and other essential relief supplies. Furthermore, the establishment of the Senator Abdulaziz Yari Scholarship Fund has enabled thousands of indigent students to pursue their educational aspirations.
More recently, Senator Yari announced a personal donation of over ₦10 billion to support the Zamfara State Government in procuring Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other security assets for deployment across the fourteen Local Government Areas of the state. This noble gesture reflects his determination to strengthen security efforts, combat kidnapping, armed robbery, and other forms of criminality affecting Zamfara State and its neighboring states.
The recent malicious publications circulating on social media by individuals driven by envy and selfish interests, aimed at creating division and destabilising the unity of Northern Nigeria, are nothing more than desperate attempts to spread fear, anxiety, and misinformation. Such propaganda will neither diminish Senator Yari’s reputation nor weaken the confidence and support he enjoys among the masses.
Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, the Shattiman Mafara, Marafan Sokoto, and Obaloyin of Yoroba land, is a distinguished statesman, an accomplished politician, an outstanding philanthropist, and a leader of exceptional character. He is a man of honour, wisdom, and compassion who has devoted his life to fighting injustice, alleviating poverty, and serving humanity.
His leadership continues to inspire many across Nigeria.
Your Excellency, Sir,
Permit me to make a heartfelt appeal on behalf of the ordinary people who continue to suffer due to the selfish ambitions of some unpatriotic politicians whose actions often run contrary to the wishes and aspirations of the masses. I humbly urge you not to be distracted by baseless criticism or politically motivated attacks. Rather, remain steadfast in your commitment to humanitarian service, youth empowerment, job creation, and the continuous improvement of the living standards of your constituents, the people of Zamfara State, and Nigerians at large.
May Almighty Allah continue to strengthen, guide, and bless you with wisdom and good health as you continue to serve humanity.
