Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadamin Birnin Magaji Elected APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara
Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadamin Birnin Magaji has been Elected as Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.
Danmadami, a two-term Commissioner for Information and former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Zamfara, emerged as the consensus candidate following the recent reorganisation of the party. The shake-up accommodated new members from Governor Dauda Lawal’s camp who recently joined the APC.
A seasoned journalist and grassroots politician, Danmadami brings decades of media and political experience to the role. He previously served as Press Secretary to former Governor Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura and as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zamfara State Council. He also chaired the Sub-Publicity Committee of Senator Abdulaziz Yari’s political organisation.
In the 2019 general elections, Danmadami won the House of Representatives seat for Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency. However, the Supreme Court later nullified his victory, alongside other APC candidates in Zamfara, over issues surrounding the party’s primaries.
Beyond politics and journalism, Danmadami is a trained historian and an active stakeholder in education. He is a member of the Senator Yari Scholarship Initiative, a scheme currently sponsoring over 2,000 students across various Nigerian universities.
Party leaders say his appointment will strengthen the APC’s communication strategy in Zamfara. They cited his deep knowledge of the state’s political terrain, strong media networks, and experience in government as key assets for projecting the party’s programmes and defending its policies ahead of 2027.
Danmadami is expected to assume office immediately.
