In what appears to be a terrible development, the dangerous bandits have resumed major kidnappings on the Gusau-Talata Mafara road, instilling fear and uncertainty in passengers.
In the recent days, more than 200 locals and innocent commuters were kidnapped along the road and villages of Maradun and Talata Mafara local government area in Zamfara state.
Kidnapping along Maru, Mayanchi, and Gidan Kano axes have increased to the daily, if not hourly, level, frightening and unsettled commuters.

Alhaji Umar Dan’asabe was said to have been abducted on Monday afternoon at approximately 1:00 p.m. while traveling less than twenty five kilometers from Talata Mafara to Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara.
Numerous drivers, passengers, and locals are still being held captive by the bandits and are now negotiating their potential release with their families.
Out of the 77 members of the Makera hamlet in Talata Mafara, 11 were freed last week after the kidnappers received motorcycles and a ransom of 10 million naira, while negotiations for the release of the rest continue.
Two checkpoints have been constructed by the military recently in Mayanchi and Kidan Kano, areas designated as hazardous for commuters; however, the situation is getting worse every day.
In the Maradun local government region, a new camp was reportedly created by the bandits leaders Halilu, Saidu, Jimmare, and Dan Small in Gwargawo, close to Bakolori Dam.
One of the bandits’ leaders in a widely circulated Vedio threatened to fight the troops and carry out kidnappings. Nonetheless, he presented Governor Dauda Lawal with a negotiation option regarding a potential cheese fire. Previously, Governor Dauda Lawal said that he would not negotiate with any bandit or criminal group.
