People of Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States have been Urged to Stop open defecation in their areas that can lead to the various killing disease in their environment.
The Call was made by UNICEF Chief Field Officer Of Kano and Sokoto Mr Maulid Warfa during the 2021 World Toilet day celebration, Organised by UNICEF SOKOTO OFFICE in Collaboration with Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States Governments,held at Danqane guest in Sokoto.
He explained that, to have good environment and hygiene it's work of everybody to play their roll in fighting against the open defecation, which their is need for more sensitizetion awareness to the general public in this regard.
" It's become necessary to see every Community, every LGA and every state to become open defecation free and this is the goal we are all aimed to achieve.
If We fixed the sensitization and hygiene we can solve atleast 60 to 70% of public health issues”, the chief officer added.
According to him open defecation, poor hygiene and poor sensitizetion can Course alot of water bone and diarhoea diseases that alot of children suffer become Malnutritious and even lost their lives.
" If we really put alot of emphasis on hygiene and sensitization and fight on Open defecation, if we address this challenges, all the incident of human disease will be address", he said.
He urged the Journalist of this three state to make Commitement in honoured the Commitement made by the president Muhammad Buhari last year, which he declared the emergency on total Sanitation in the Country.
" we need to push and put hand together use religious leaders, Traditional leaders and Tittle holders respected and make sure that every body put alot of emphasis on fighting against open defecation", he said.
In her Remarks, the Zamfara State Desk officer Ruwassa Hajiya Umma Ahmad advice the Media practitioner to Sensitize more on the importance of using toilet in their various areas, which the need is over empherzise.
" We Should encourage our society on the need of defecation free by using toilet and even in our various Majalisa" she said.
