From: Dahiru Samaila Mafara
The Chairman of Talata Mafara Local Government Council, Hon. Yahaya Yari has revealed that the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal has executed projects worth over N40 billion in Talata Mafara Local Government Area.
Hon. Yari disclosed this while responding to the ongoing heated debate in Zamfara State between welfare and capital projects during an interaction with members of the Senator Abdulaziz Yari Media Team in his office in Talata Mafara.
According to him, the present administration has invested heavily in critical sectors that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
He cited the ongoing reconstruction of Talata Mafara General Hospital at the cost of about N9 billion, and the ongoing massive infrastructural development at the Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara, valued at over N13 billion.
Other projects listed by the Chairman include the ongoing reconstruction of Talata Mafara Local Government Secretariat at about N500 million, the construction of Talata Mafara Second Jumu’at Mosque at over N1.2 billion, and the Talata Mafara Modern Market project worth over N350 million.
The council chairman noted that apart from the highlighted projects, there are other numerous interventions by the state government in the local government that have transformed the area.
Hon. Yari therefore challenged those clamouring for welfare to support the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in its efforts to develop Zamfara State, stressing that meaningful development is the best form of welfare.
