The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal, has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries into the Zamfara State Civil Service.

The approval was contained in an official statement issued on Wednesday, 15th October, 2026, by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Zamfara State, signed by the Head of Service, Shehu Baraya, FCNA.

According to the statement, the appointment is in furtherance of the administration’s commitment to strengthening public service leadership, institutional effectiveness and efficient service delivery.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:

1. Ahmad S. Zamfara

2. Nasiru Hailu Anka

3. Mu’azu Jibril Guraguri

4. Adamu Abdullahi Kanoma

5. Sani Muh’d Shinkafi

The statement disclosed that the appointments followed the successful completion of a structured assessment exercise conducted in collaboration with the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN).

The exercise, it said, was part of the State Government’s ongoing public service reforms, with emphasis on merit, competence, professionalism and leadership capacity.

“The position of Permanent Secretary is central to the effective functioning of the Civil Service, particularly in policy implementation, administrative coordination, institutional accountability and the delivery of government priorities,” the statement said.

It added that Governor Lawal’s approval underscores his resolve to build a professional, responsive and results-oriented Civil Service, while strengthening leadership succession and institutional continuity.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, impartiality and accountability in line with the Public Service Rules and the policy direction of the state government.

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service will coordinate the necessary administrative arrangements for the formalization and implementation of the appointments in line with established procedures.
