In this interview with dfknews.com.ng political editor, Dahiru Samaila Mafara, Alh. Isah Suleiman Attahir gives his brief history, and bares his mind on his close relationship with Senator A.A. Yari and his dear support to his people, constituents and the humanity in general.

Can you give us a short Biography of yourself ?
Okay So….My name are, Isah Suleiman Attahir
I was born in Talata Mafara Local government on 15th May, 1966.
I attended early Qur’an education from Alphabets to complete recitation from The famous Malan Yusuf Gwadara from about age of 5 to 12 years old. Later I studied further Islamic education in Fiqh with my Uncle, current Chief Imam of Talata Mafara; Liman Aliyu Attahir up to the age of 18.
I attended Township Primary School, Talata Mafara from 1972-1978 where I obtained my Primary School Leaving Certificate. I proceeded to The Premier Government college, Sokoto (now Nagarta College) from 1978-1983 for my West African School Leaving Certificate. Thereafter I attended Federal Science College Sokoto and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1983-1986, where I studied Accounting
From 1988 to 1991 I attended US Army Education, APO New York 09407.
I am a certified Member of The Chatered Institute of Management Accountants Of Nigeria (ACIMA)
Certified member of Chatered Institute of Loans and Risk Managements of Nigeria (CILRMN)
Certified Member, Chatered Institute of Management and Leadership, Delaware, USA (CILMusa)
I attended an Executive Program at Doctorate Business management Level, an international Devolopment Ressearch Program organized and Delivered jointly by Galilee Institute Of International Management, Nahalal, Israel, and Paris School of Business, France. 16 Participants from across African Continent and Carrebian islands. Along with Ms. Evelyn Aputa, former Managing Director, CEO, Bank of Industry, Nigeria, I was invited and participated on the Ressearch Program.
My research was based on replicating the gains of Privatizing Telecommunications industry in Nigeria, to The Electricity Distribution sub sector.
I did an internship with Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (NIDB), now Bank of Industry (BOI) 1986-1987

How do you describe personal attributes and manner of Senator Abdulaziz Yari?
Okay so, M. Dahiru….
I want to believe you are talking about The Character and personal Qualities of Senator Abdulaziz Yari….
Indeed his critics and contemporaries alike must have to reckon with his personal qualities and his amazing content of character.
As a well schooled individual in Management Theories and leadership qualities, from time to time I try to measure up the codified qualities of most effective leaders to the personal character of Abdulaziz Yari. Undoubtedly, he scores excellently in leadership qualities. I believe those qualities are responsible for his high degree of success in politics and leadership.
High sense of self-discipline, self-awareness, patience, Focus, determination, confidence, consistency, persistence, etc. no doubt there is evident proof of all above qualities in the personal character of Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Those of us who thoroughly knows him in different stages of human development would no doubt attest to the fact that most of those qualities were inherent to him since childhood and consistently all through various stages to date. It is therefore no any surprise or wonder as to how Malan have been growing strength to strength, season after season consistently in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Now, M. Dahiru, of course, as a human being every individual will have his flaws, his weaknesses and his lower side. But, M. Dahiru I am not going to delve into those as honestly Some of us as are personally doing our very best as life long friends, personally with him highlighting those grey areas and I assure you that he promised me to correct those few insignificant but formidable areas that are inevitably crucial to attaining successes as most highly effective leader, especially now that; he is on the way to the peak of his political carrier; and exposed to political leadership on a much much wider scale – at Central level in Nigeria….. it is no longer family or State Affair. It’s now National and Global Scale.
How long have you known Senator Abdulaziz Yari ?
Yeah okay so…..
M. Dahiru I would say I have known His Excellency, former governor of Zamfara State, now Senator Abdulaziz Yari representing my senatorial District of Zamfara West; I would say all my conscious life.
On this faithful day in the Autumn of 1972, we both got up to see each other along with about 26 others in the same class 1 Township Primary School Talata Mafara.
This happened not by our choices, but by what I may called convergence of fate and destiny. God brought us together by His own Wisdom.
Ever since we have been ceaseless friends. From childhood through adolescents and into adulthood. We have always respectfully been very close to each other, and as adults and into parenthood we have done so much together in so many different spheres of life, and always have a thorough understanding of each other to a degree not easily comprehensible to any watcher by at all.
So, M. Dahiru I will let you do the maths to come up with figures as to the years and months I have known my very good revered friend,

What are your views on the various positions that A.A. Yari held, and how he impacted on lives of many people?
As I have indicated earlier, The personal qualities of Senator Abdulaziz Yari are inevitably responsible for his high degree of success in Nigerian political landscape…..
What started in the quite of Zamfara around 2000/2001 as State Secretary of The APP (now APC) have now in almost two decades turned out to be a resume very rare to find. Rising gradually but consistently every political season continually. From Party Secretary to Party Chairman, to Member National Assembly representing Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency, then Executive governor of Zamfara State and now Senator Representing Zamfara West, Senatorial District.
If you carefully watch the trend you must have to agree with me that it takes no any ordinary leader to achieve those feats. Looking at the consistency. The challenges and the appropriate problem solving techniques, patience, focus etc. only individual with those qualities of a highly effective leader with the right attitude and right frame of mind could surmount challenges of times continually in this manner as Senator Abdulaziz Yari succeeded to do.
Positions he held, step by step, hierarchy by hierarchy and one season at a time testifies to attainment of dogged and purposeful leadership goals and qualities.
