A member of the House of representatives, representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in Zamfara state has been praised for restoring water supplies to Unguwar Marafa hamlet after 40 years of neglect.
Malam Lawali Marafa, a leader of the Unguwar Marafa village in Bela District of Bungudu local government, revealed this to reporters during a visit.
Prior to the intervention of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu, Lawali Marafa revealed that his village had to journey up to Tukasau or Tugurgurawa or Bunaje which is two to five kilometers to source for drinking water.
He added that, in multiple occasions water scarcity affect their daily meals as sometimes shortage of water in their locality prevent them from cooking.
In his narration, the community leader stated that, the intervention of Hon. Abdulmalik to his community remained a lifesaving effort that put an end to the lack of water in rural areas.
It should be noted that Zannan Bungudu has begun the building of 210 boreholes, 10 for each of the 21 wards of the Maru and Bungudu Federal Constituency, to give table water to his constituents.
