The Chairman of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) Talata Mafara, Murtala Muhammad has assured that his administration’s achievements over the last two years were only the top of the iceberg.
He revealed this during an interview with the Pressmen following the union congress meeting. He stated that in the next two years, he would prioritize boosting the standards of the chapter above its counterpart and reaching shoulder size with the sister chapters of Nigeria’s Federal Polytechnic institutions.
“We want to present a good report during the next congress in December 2024, insha Allah,” He said. My administration will focused on four critical areas such as good governance, infrastructure development, debt service, and accountability.”
“The Academic Staff Union of the Polytechnic Talata Mafara Chapter (ASUP) requires your support and active engagement to perform,” he says. I am convinced that with your continuous support for the leadership, we will surpass all expectations.” He added
“We cannot do it alone, let’s embark on this journey together hand-in-hand to deliver efficient leadership” he emphasized
When visiting the ASUP’s guests house It was learnt that the current administration is doing very well on the long-age abandoned lodge.
BLDr. Umar Ibrahim, the site engineer estimated that the construction work has reached an appreciable progress to 40% completion quite contrary to the level he met the project abandoned at 3%.
Umar further reiterated that, “chairman has judiciously allocated resources with high-quality materials and deployment of expertise to supervise the project.”
When reached for assessment of the ASUP’s current leadership, two ASUP member and one other executive member said, “No matter how much you hate the current chairman, you must be fair to him when it comes to judicious spending of the union’s money, transparency, and accountability in total adherence compared to the past administrations with they little they earn.”
When visiting the ASUP’s guests home, it was discovered that the present administration is doing a fantastic job on the long-abandoned lodge.

According to an anonymous member, “Murtala Muhammad is the type of leader who is open-minded and who ensures costs are cut to adjust to current economic realities.”
