Zamfara state government has donated 97 cows and 199 assorted bags of Rice to all zawiyya islamiyya schools across the 14 local government areas of the state.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for religious Affairs, Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe during a weekly briefing in his office, Gusau.
The commissioner who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Barister Sani Nasarawa, noted that the essence of gesture was to assist the Muslim ummah to perform this year’s Maulid Nabiyu SAW with happiness .
According to him, it is an annual tradition for the state government to distribute the commidites to religious organizations for them to conduct their maulid successfully.
The commissioner also said that every zawiyya islamiyya school is to benefit with 1 cow and 2 bags of rice with the exception of Zawiyya Sheikh Balarabe that benefits with 2 cows and 4 bags of rice respectively.
He also called on the beneficiaries to use the period and pray for peace to the state.
Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe also thanked the state Governor Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle for his commitment towards the development of Islamic religion in the state.
Beneficiaries who spoke to dfknews online in Kaura, Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi, Zurmi has expressed their happiness over the gesture and pray for the success of the present administration.
