New President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau said he will do whatever possible to change the subsisting match patterns and mode of officialization.
The NFF President disclosed this in Gusau while charting with Zamfara State Referees Standing Committee who paid him a congratulatory visit.
According to him, the existing match rules and officiating mode nationwide were characterized by questionable tendencies which need to be refilled in the interest of justice and fair play.
Gusau expressed dissatisfaction over the manner match officials used to award as much as 10, 15, or 20 minutes added time as extra or injury time, which he adjudged is a clear sign of malpractice.
He buttressed, that from this season, reports by Match Commissioners must reach him at appropriate time, while failure to follow due process will amount to taking drastic disciplinary action.
He gave stern warning to all operators in the industry to desist any act of what he called “match selling or match buying”, saying anyone found guilty of such offence would be brought to book.
On series of complaints of non proper representation of some regions in the formation of the national team ( the Super Eagles) , Ibrahim Musa Gusau attributed the problem to lack of skills, incompetence and absence of patriotism
He whoever assured that with his coming on board, the narrative must surely change.
Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau maintained that his leadership will also pay due attention to issues of financing the sector in order to make it more vibrant, adding that issues must take their right positions.
He extended his gratitude to those who prayed for his victory in his election, and appealed to all and sundry not to relent in prayers for him to actualize his dream of moving NFF forward.
