It was an act of career bastardization for a seasoned journalist and an ex-staff of a world class media, the BBC, Kadaria Ahmed to have compromised the main stream journalism for cheap publicity, personal egos, political sentiment and barbaric tendencies.
Hardly one would believe, that Kadaria Ahmed who worked for BBC for couple of years, could go such extra miles to castigate BBC for doing the needful pertaining to Nigeria’s security situation.
In a write up she coined “The BBC in Nigeria: Between Reporting and Propagating Terror”, Kadaria Ahmed faulted BBC for what she described as amplifying voices, faces and stories, including display of arms, videos and footages of killers in Nigeria, adding that the world media giant is becoming a tool for terrorists.
Let Kadaria remember that the cardinal job of a media is “bridging information gap”, so that a clear picture, situation, view of any matter concerning the humanity is expounded for solutions.
So, Kadaria is just ridiculing herself, because the society is the best judge, and it is now understood that she is only igniting confusions and attempting to carry away the attention of Nigerians from the reality of emerging facts about the incessant crimes and criminal elements across the length and breath of Nigeria, probably for certain hidden agenda.
The BBC is of course on the right path of its journalistic job, but Kadaria has been working contrary to make the agenda setting of her mentors upon predicated political motives to operate.
As I said, the dump founded so called seasoned journalist, is only contradicting herself in many ways.
During the administration of former Governor of Zamfara state, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, (Shattiman Zamfara), Kadaria Ahmed organized and staged a street rally in Abuja shouting slogans over the security situation in Zamfara state.
She bursted, that Governor Yari “was the most useless governor in Nigeria”, for according to her misgivings, Yari could not bring to an end, the growing insecurity in the state.
Now that the situation has aggravated to incessant killings, kidnappings, ransom payments and destruction of property and communities all over the state, Kadaria is not only mute, but is bold enough to say that reporting the insecurity happenings in Nigeria, Zamfara in particular, is uncalled for, and that it was a deliberate attempt to fuel insurgency.
Now the questions to ask Kadaria
- Do you now believe that Governor Yari did his best in curtailing the level of insurgency in Zamfara state ?
- Do you believe now, that the situation in Zamfara is far worse now, than during Yari’s administration ?
- That the situation is beyond the political powers of Zamfara state government to control ?
- Kadaria reflected in her write up, the statement of abductors which was contained on a footage, that during the current administration in Zamfara state, over 300 Jangebe secondary school girls were kidnapped in Zamfara state and were released by their abductors upon payment of colossal amount of money as ransom, did something of this nature had ever happened during Yari’s administration ?
More so, I’m happy that Kadaria has now realized where the problem lies, because she had mentioned in her write up that “the current spate of insecurity is the fault of the Federal Government”, adding “Buhari got failed to control (the situation) and to arrest the blood thirsty criminals”
So, Kadaria has been catapulting her hidden agenda under shadow, giving dog a bad name in order to get it blustered.
At this point, it is cristal clear that Kadaria Ahmed who claims is from Zamfara, should drop her indolence and allow the reality on ground to take its center stage.
