KOGUNA IS REAL 2023 NOW RENAMED MATAWALLE IS REAL 2023
A former All Progressives Congress, APC Candidate in the 2019 Gubernatorial Election in Zamfara state, Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris (Kogunan Gusau) has handed over one of his strong election campaign machinery to the state incumbent Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
It could be recalled that, Kogunan Gusau was officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as the winner of 2019 Gubernatorial Election in the state until the Apex Court turned it down and ordered that Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle be sworn in as the state Executive Governor.
The group was one and unique out of other powerful weapons used in securing overall victory for APC during the 2019 general elections in Zamfara state
The initiative was initially designed beyond the 2019 general elections with view to continue with its public enlightenment, voter education and canvassing for more votes with a target of securing over 500,000 votes in the upcoming 2023 Elections for the candidature of Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris.
Giving a brief about the development at a meeting in Gusau the state capital on Monday, Project Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Saminu Sama’ila Tsafe said after due consultations with relevant stakeholders in the state that includes, Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris (Kogunan Gusau) in whose honour the group was named after and former Governor of Zamfara state, Hon. Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, the group was renamed as “Matawalle Is Real 2023”
Saminu Said the decision was aimed at following the footsteps of the recent reconciliation made between two powerful pillers of Zamfara politics, Governor Bello Matawalle and the former Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari.
According to the Project Coordinator, the structure of the group consists of State, Zonal, Local Governments, Wards and Polling Units would now be handed over to Governor Bello Matawalle.
In his remarks, the Project Leader of the group, Hon. Yahaya Yari Abubakar, a younger brother to former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari appreciated the contributions of the members, especially what he described as outstanding performance recorded by the group during the 2019 general elections.
” I urged you to extend similar gesture of hard work, dedication and commitment to ensure success of Governor Bello Matawalle comes 2023″
” I want you to support all APC Candidates in your respective local governments, embark upon public awareness campaign on the importance of getting PVC before the INEC dead line for the registration.” Yari said
Members of the group also unanimously agreed that henceforth, the group should forthwith bear ‘Matawalle is Real 2023’
Other group members who attended the meeting included, but not limited to, Hon. Kabiru S. Aski Gummi, former Chairman of Gummi local government, Hon. Badamasi Abdullahi Ƴarkofoji, Former Bakura Local Government Chairman, Hon. Junaidu Anka, Hon. Mansur RO Mafara, Hon. Aliyu Nayu, Former Local Government Secretaries and Alhaji Sirajo Muhammad Birnin Magaji, former APC Zonal Youths leader, Hon. Kabiru Isah Jengeru, former Special Adviser, Hon. Haruna Dansadau Former Special Adviser, Mal Aliyu Iliyasu, State Chairman APC Amana Forum, Hajiya Balkisu Ibrahim Mafara, Hajiya Lariya Kaura among others.
