The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah has directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure that all Police SPY Plates Number currently in use in the state wether authorised or otherwise are confiscated with immediate effect.
Elkanah in a statement issued today in Gusau the state capital by the Cammands’ Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu said, in total and absolute compliance with the dirctives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba regarding the unexceptional ban on the use of Police Spy Vehicle plates Number by Vehicle owners across the federation, all Police SPY Plates Number currently in use in the state wether authorised or otherwise are confiscated with immediate effect, as all authorisations are hereby revoked indefinitely.
The Commissioner of Police while appealing for continous support and cooperation from all and sundry in this regard, cautioned the enforcing Police officers against human rights violation, extortion and other unethical conduct, as Police Taskforce team has been constituted and mandated to go round the 14 LGAs and ensure total compliance.
