A leaders of armed bandits terrorizing communities of Birnin Magaji, Zurmi and part of Katsina state, Alhaji Auta, was said to have been killed in an air strike by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Zamfara state.
A source from the area said many of his gang members were also killed during the military airstrike.
According to various sources who spoke in condition of anoymity confirmed that the airstrike has destroyed criminal hideout along Jama’are Bayan Dutsi, in Nasarawa Mailayi District of Birnin Magaji local government area in Zamfara state at the early hours of January first, 2022 where Alhaji Auta and his gang members are believed to have being taking shelter.
Police in a press briefing today in Gusau, the state capital said, 21 children including two females were rescued in a joint security operations in Zamfara.
Police are yet to make any comments about the killing of Alhaji Auta and his boys.
