AS MATAWALLE HOSTS MAURITANIAN DEFENCE MINISTER.
The Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle has expressed commitment of the Nigerian government in postering closer military and security cooperation with Mauritania.
A statement by the Personal Assistant on Media to the minister, Ahmed Dan Wudil said the revelation was made during a visit at the Ship House, Abuja by the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Hanena Ould Sidi.
The meeting, held within the framework of enhancing mutual relations between Nigeria and Mauritania, aimed to reinvigorate joint cooperation in the military and security fields, particularly in light of Nigeria’s pivotal role in counter-terrorism efforts across the African region.
Dr. Matawalle emphasized Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the historical and brotherly relations between the two nations, with a focus on advancing cooperation in various sectors, notably in military collaboration and the fight against terrorism.
Furthermore, Dr. Matawalle reiterated Nigeria’s appreciation for its relations with Mauritania and emphasized Nigeria’s keen interest in fostering closer military and security cooperation with Mauritania.
