Aftermath of Makera Bandits attack: Number of Kidnapped Victims rises to over 70

Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Further investigations by the Makera community of Talata Mafara local government area in Zamfara state, where bandits recently killed nine and abducted 55, have revealed that more than 70 individuals are still missing.

According to a resident of the area who spoke with dfknews.com.ng said the latest statistics conducted by a committee comprised of the village’s head and other stakeholders revealed the new figure.

The insider stated that the original statistic of 55 victims was based solely on Households, but when women and children are included, the number rises to more than 70.

According to him, no more communication was established with the kidnappers.

dfknews.com.ng observed that inhabitants of the region are still fleeing to surrounding areas such as Talata Mafara and Maradun to spend the night in fear of another attack.
