Honourable Abdulmalik Zubairu, a member of Zamfara state’s Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency, has organized a three-day free medical clinic for nearly 1,500 women and children in his area.
The program began on Thursday at the Zubairu Bawa Women and Children Community Hospital in Bungudu town, the state’s Bungudu local government district headquarters.
Honourable Zubairu built the hospital and provided medical amenities.
Hundreds of mothers and children from the Maru and Bungudu local government areas gathered for the medical outreach program.
Some patients gathered at the venue for free medical care.
Speaking at the start of the three-day programme on Thursday, IMAN’s National President, Professor Salisu Ismail of ABU Teaching Hospital Zaria, said the decision to hold the event in the Federal Constituency was informed by Hon. Zubairu’s assistance to the association.
Professor Ismail noted that Honourable Zubairu had made significant contributions to the advancement of the medical profession in his area.
He emphasized that the group has mobilized a number of specialists and medical advisors to ensure the programme’s success in Bungudu.
He praised Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu for constructing such a great hospital, complete with contemporary medical facilities for women and children in his neighborhood.
He urged other political office holders to follow in the footsteps of parliamentarians, adding that the initiative would include theatrical, outpatient, dental, and eye clinic treatments, among other things.
In his speech, the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, praised Hon Abdulmalik Zubairu for bringing such major events to Bungudu and constructing a women and children’s hospital for the town and beyond.
He also urged his followers to make proper use of the resources allocated for their benefit.
