The Department of Office Technology Management of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara, Zamfara state, won the 2023 RECTORS CUP today after defeating the Department of Math and Statistics in a one-on-one final.
The final game finished in a 0-0 tie at the Polytechnic football field before advancing to penalty shots, which OTM won 5-4.
The Polytechnic rector and register, Malam Sirajo Abdullahi Shinkafi and Malam Kabiru Musa, as well as many of the Polytechnic administration team, attended the final match.
While presenting the cup immediately after the final match, the rector praised the champions and all participating departments on their maturity throughout the competition.
Malam Nasiru Ahmed Zabarma, who captained the champions during the final match, expressed his joy at the victory and praised his team’s effort.
He also praised the organizing committee and other officials for working tirelessly to ensure the competition ran well.
