Worried by their lackadaisical attitude, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, tetfund, has ordered some Nigerian tertiary educational institutions to promptly return back to the coffers of the Fund, all monies disbursed to them unjustified or not properly channeled.
In an official document signed and issued by its Director of Finance and Accounts, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Olotu (FCA, FCTI), tetfund expressed dismay that some beneficiary institutions and their staff have scandalously refused to use funds disbursed to them for approved conference programs.
According to the official document, tetFund directs all beneficiary institutions that did not used the funds judiciously and their staff who deliberately refused to attend approved conference programs to quickly refund back all monies disbursed to them into dedicated accounts .
The authority said for probity and accountability purposes, evidence of refund must be provided for future references.
TETFUND observed with dismay, lapses by the affected parties in the implementation of Conference Allowance Intervention Program, describing the attitude as very scandalous
Dr (Mrs) Gloria Olotu, according to the document, gave stern warning to the defying beneficiary institutions and their respective staff to comply with the order or face sanctions .
She cautioned them that if they fail to comply with the order, anti graft agencies are always ready to exercise their civic duties against them.
