The Nigerian army has urged journalists to work with law enforcement to combat banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state.
When he hosted the head and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Zamfara state council at the Headquarters 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Gusau, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, the commander of 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, made the call. General Ahmad asked journalists to provide information of national interest in news stories.
He praised the working journalists in the state of Zamfara for their contributions to the prompt distribution of information about the troop operations.
According to 1 brigade captain Yahaya Arama Ibrahim, acting assistant director of army public relations, the brigade commander thanked the media for their assistance.

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Maizare, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Zamfara state council, had earlier praised the Nigerian Army for its efforts in all of the operations that were effective and had beneficial results, particularly during this year’s farming season.
