G-20 HAILS YARI FOR CONSTRUCTING 7.5KM GURUSU-NASARAWA BURKULLU ROAD

People of Nasarawa Burkullu community in Bukuyyum local government have expressed their heart felt appreciation to the Zamfara West Senator elect, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar for single handedly executing 7.5km Gurusu to Nasarawa road.

Expressing delight in an interview with the press on behalf of the community, chairman of a pro Yari group, G-20 based in Nasarawa, Alh. Abubakar Muh’d Ladan, said they are overwhelmed by the road construction project.

The chairman noted that the community had been pursuing previous administrations to construct the road since the Shagari regime in the former Sokoto state until now the savior, the Senator elect made their dream a reality.

Alh. Abubakar Muhd Lada further stressed that when the road is completed, it boost the socioeconomic development and improve security situation in the area.

He added that the Senator elect had constructed over 17km township roads with drainages in Masarawa Burkullu area when he was the state governor.

Ladan described former Governor Yari as a true democrat, saying with the development, Bukuyyum local government and the Zamfara West Senatorial zone will benefit a lot over his credible representation of the zone in the National Assembly.

Secretary of the G-20, Alh. Ibrahim Muhd Dantawasa, opined that the 7.5km road awarded and being executive by the Senator elect for the sake of the community is very significant as it covers many villages and settlements in the area.

According to him, the road was almost not motorable due to its bad condition especially during rainy season, saying by constructing it to completion, motorists will fly it with comfort, thereby bringing boom to diversification of socioeconomic activities.

Alh. Ibrahim Muhd Dantawasa further stated that the Senator elect had carried out many other physical development projects across the area apart from the road under construction.

He expressed optimism that if the Senator gets to the Senate, more dividends of democracy will be at their door steps, describing Yari as a credible leader per excellence.

The 7. 5km road contract was awarded by the Senator elect on his personal capacity to CGGC Engineering Company Ltd at the cost of over 1.3bn and being supervised by an engineering firm, Innovate Engineering Consulting and Construction Big. Ltd.

The specification of the 7.5km road include two major bridges, several culverts, standard dual shoulder drainages and two major erosion sports as well as pathways to individual houses and shops over the stretch of the road from Gurusu to Nasarawa.

Speaking with journalists on inspection visit to the project site, the CGGC Site Engineer who was handy, Mr. John Bassey, said the company is working according to contractual specifications and is striving towards timely completion.

Many residents of the area, Rabi’u Marafa, Hajiya Ai and Madawakin Nasarawa, and host of others who spoke to journalists on the inspection visit, expressed their deep joy with the ongoing project and thanked the Senator elect for his humanitarian efforts towards the development of the area and prayed Allah to grant him success in all his future endeavors.

Responding to Journalists on behalf of the donor of the project, Media aide to the Senator elect, Comrade Dahiru Samaila Mafara, disclosed that 90% of the total project cost has so far been paid to the contracting company.

Comrade Dahiru Samaila said the project is going according to contractual agreement, assuring that it will be fully completed before the rainy season proper.
