Zamfara state government has expressed dismay over influx of alleged illegal Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs, in the state.
In a written public statement signed and issued by the state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, DIG Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe rtd, said the situation is worry some and threat to the security of the state.
He noted that most of the NGOs operating in the state are not legally registered with state government which contravenes the laid down rules and regulations of the government.
DIG Mamman disclosed that some of the alleged illegal NGOs have been found guilty of fueling insecurity and undermining the peace of the state.
The statement called on all security agencies in the state to keep surveillance on the activities of the NGOs, adding that those found going contrary to the law shall be prosecuted and necessary reports be submitted to the ministry .
DIG Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe while warning the illegal NGOs to immediately move out of the state, cautioning Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, not to associate with the perpetrators or punitive measures would be taken against erring MDAs.
