Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has appointed former Governor Yari’s Media aide, Dahiru Samaila Mafara as Director General in his cabinet.
Mafara was the former Director General in charge of New Media during ex -Governor Yari’s second term in office.
He was an Online Desk Officer between 2012 and 2015, acting Director between 2013 and 2017 of same capacity before he was appointed by former governor Abdulaziz Yari to serve as his Director General in charge of New Media.
He posses Diploma in Public Administration, National Diploma in Mass Communications at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from the Annahada University in Niger Republic.
Before his appointment, Dahiru Samaila Mafara was a staff at Zamfara State Printing and Publition Company, (Publishers of The Weekly Legacy newspaper.)
He is a professional Digital Marketer trained by the Daily Trust Foundation, and had attended various digital media courses.
On unionism, Dahiru Samaila Mafara also served as the Chairman of Legacy Newspaper Chapel before he became the Treasurer of the Zamfara State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
His letter of appointment was issued to him by the former Governor of Zamfara state, His Execellenncy Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar at his residence in Mafara over the weekend.
A vibrant young man of combined wisdoms, Dahiru Samaila Mafara is a professional media striker who so deserves this appointment.
No doubt, that he has the potentialities to deliver in his new capacity.
