Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits has said to have carriedout 15 different attacks to block Zaria -Gusau road linking Katsina Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states.
A motorist who doesn’t want his name in the media told dfknews that, from Sunday, October 1st, 2022 to Thursday, 6th October bandits have carriedout about 15 separate attacks on the road.
The raising of banditry attacks in Zamfara state within the first week of October is becoming a source of great concern especially to the motorist passing to Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states.
The trouble area start from Sheme to Ƴan Kara in Katsina state.
dfknews has reliably gathered that gunmen had Wednesday night said to have attempted to attack a military base in Faru town of Maradun local government in Zamfara state but was said to have been repeal by the gallant men of Nigerian Army.
Similar incident was reportedly said to have happened in Bukkuyum Local Govt area of Zamfara state where suspected gunmen attack people of Birnin Waje village who are running to escape an attack by bandits Wednesday night.
“The victims who were mostly women and children were in a boat trying to escape the bandits attack but unfortunately the boat capsized, killing 21 children and five women”.
“As I am talking to you now, we have recovered their dead bodies and we will soon bury them”. The source said
He further explained that the bandits have also kidnapped 27 people in surrounding villages of Rugaje, Danzamau and Maikulki of the local government.
”They kidnapped 12 in Rugaje, nine in Danzamau and six in Maikulki”.
He called on the security agencies to come to their rescue.
Police authorities are yet to make any comments on the rampant attacks in the highway as well as that of Bukkuyum and Maradun local governments.
