No fewer than two thousand people has benefited with the Zamfara State free medical outreach in Gusau Local Government area of the state.
Speaking at the official flag-up ceremony of the programme in Gusau, the Zamfara State Deputy Governor explained that the medical outreach programme is in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria and Zamfara State Government targeting over five thousand beneficiaries from the four local governments in Zamfara Central District which Gusau has the highest number of over two thousand beneficiaries.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau said, the present administration of Governor Bello Matawalle is focusing directly on the continuous provisions of free health care service delivery and free education in the society.
He further confirmed to the public that, the State Governor has approved the instant upgrade of Damba Health Care Centre to the full pledged General Hospital, and has directed the reconstruction of the General Hospital Gusau to the best standard.
According to the Deputy Governor, the State Executive Governor Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle has since provided one hundred and fourty seven primary health care centres attached with official ambulances to ease the conveyance of patients with major issues to the appropriate facility.
Senator Gusau, on behalf of the State Governor, thanks the Permacuetical Council of Nigeria and all relevant stakeholders for ensuring the implementation of the ongoing medical outreach in the zone, and called on the medical team members to, as a matter of urgency, refer any complicated case to appropriate health facility for further consideration.
Also speaking at the occassion, the Medical Consultant Dr Hajiya Fatima Abdullahi expressed appreciation to the State Government, Gusau Emirate and all concerned for adequate mobilisation and publicity which resulted to the good turn out of patients from all parts of Gusau Local Government area.
Dr. Fatima further reiterated their commitments toward providing the required services to all the accredited patients and urged them to respect the guiding principles of the excercise with a view of achieving the target objectives.
