– SAYS REPORTS ARE UNTRUE AND MALICIOUS
Leadership newspaper correspondent in Zamfara state, Umar Maradun who was recently arrested by Police following a petition written by a Permanent Secretary, Government Gusau, Abubakar Jafar has tender an apology and retract what he confessed to be malicious and untrue.
Maradun was arrested last week after publication of two separate articles titled; 2023: Hurdles before Zamfara APC published on the 22th July and “Zamfara politics of Deceit and Hypocrisy published on the 17th July.
Maradun in a statement shared to this medium personally through the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Zamfara state Council, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare whose efforts prevent the journalist from been charged to Court for alledged defamation of Character and Criminal Conspirency confessed that all the assertions are untrue and malicious.
He however urged people to disregard the involvement of the permanent secretary in the PDP activities as early claimed in his malicious assertions.

Following a complain to the Zamfara state commissioner of police, Mr. Ayuba Elkana by Permanent Secretary, Government House, Gusau, Alhaji Abubakr Jafar over the two separate writes up titles : 2023: Hurdles before Zamfara APC published on the 22th July and “Zamfara politics of Deceit and Hypocrisy published on the 17th July, I, Umar Maradun, the author of the articles, wish to withdraw the section that talked about the Permanent Secretary, Government House, as the subsmission was found to be untrue and malicious, it is hereby withdrawn and retract.
Based on the wrong submission, I wish to apologize for the misleading ascertions about the Permanent Secretary Government House Gusau.
I hereby regret the malicious statements and urged people to disregard the involvement of the permanent secretary in the PDP activities”
