ZMHA SCREENS EX-DEPUTY SPEAKER GUMMI, FOUR OTHERS AS COMMISSIONER AND SPECIAL ADVISERS

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed former Deputy Speaker of the House, Muhammad Abubakar-Gummi as Commissioner-nominee.

Others confirmed along with Gummi includes, Sambo Garba-Marafa, Abdulkadir Muhammad, Muhammad Kabiru and Bala Dakitakwas were screened and confirmed by the house to be appointed as Special Advisers.

Similarly the House during the sitting on Monday passed a bill to provide a law for the prohibition and punishment’s for banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, cultism, terrorism and other incidental offences. 2022.

The bill was presented before the house by the Deputy House Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Justice and Judiciary, Nasiru Bello Lawal (APC- Bungudu West).

After extensive deliberations, Nasiru Bello called on members of the house to allow it to be given it’s 3rd reading.

The Speaker, Nasiru Magarya while making his comments, said the bill had already gone through its first and second readings and other rigorous legislative processes, including a public hearing.

He said, there is need for the passage of the bill by the house, considering its importance in ensuring peace and stability of the state.

The lawmakers has after extensive deliberations unanimously agreed with the bill to be given its third reading.

The Speaker directed the Clerk of the house, Alhaji Shehu Anka, to give the bill its third reading.

Magarya further commend the governor for taking the proactive measures in curtailing the current security challenges in the state, stressing that, the new measures can only be successful when the prayers and support of all citizens are enjoyed by the government.
