No fewer than 1000 patients in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara state have benefited from a free medical outreach programme initiated by a former Governor in the state, Hon. Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar.
Dr Yemi Eseyim (Physiotherapist) who is also the programme’s implementation team leader, disclosed this to our Correspondent during a chat.
Dr. Eseyim explained that from the inception of the programme which entails a mobile clinic, over 600 patients suffering from several cases of Musculoskeletal issues were captured and treated.
According to him, the mobile clinic provides medical support for people suffering from Back pain, Neck pain, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Fractures (Post – Op), O & G and Paediatrics cases.
He said, cases beyond the scope of the clinic are referred to appropriate channels for better management.
“We offer most general medical awareness services to people, especially those we observed are with several cases and suffer
negligence” he added
In a remark, Alhaji Sama’ila S.Pawa, a close associate of the former Governor who supervised the exercise, said that the essence of the programme was to provide good healthcare for the less privileged, to enable them go about their daily activities successfully.
“The intended objectives have been achieved on helping people that otherwise could not get any help, People with various sicknesses have been attended to, prescribed as well as issued various medical assistance.
The medical outreach team is expected to run the exercise in the for not less than a week.
