Aspirants vying for various positions for the upcoming election of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Zamfara state Council has storm Secretariat of the Union in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara to obtain nomination forms.
Speaking exclusively with the Newsrouter on the development, Secretary of the Credentials Committee, Dahiru Samaila Mafara said, the committee is doing all its possible best in ensuring the conduct of free, fair and acceptable Election.
” You can see how people from various Chapels are trooping to obtain nomination form of various positions which clearly shows the confidence of Union members to the committee, and I assured you the committee led by Comrade Ibrahim Kanoma will repose their confidence.”
Speaking further, Samaila said so far, three aspirants has obtained nomination form for the position of chairmanship, adding that, other positions too are been considered by other aspirants.
When asked on the possibility of adding extra time for sales of nomination form, the secretary reply: ” I don’t think there’s going to be any extra time considering the two weeks period which is enough for any serious minded applicant.”
“The closing date for sales of nomination form remain as it’s in the earlier released schedule of activities for the Delegates Conference” He emphasized.
