The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in Kano state has shutdown seven filling stations for selling petrol above government’s approved price and illegal deals of petroleum products.
Deputy State Commandant of the corps and Head of Anti Vandalization Department, Danjuma Muhammad made this known yesterday.
Mr.Danjuma said, the Command in compliance with the recent directives by the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Mr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi to deal with all forms of illegal deals in petroleum products, vandalism and bunkering, the Command has redoubled its efforts in that direction.
He said the seven filling stations and 47 people apprehended for selling petroleum products above official price will face the full wrap of law.
According to Mr. Danjuma, the filling stations involved in wrong doings were accused of selling petrol at 205 or 195 against the government approved price of 165 Naira.
Mr Danjuma said the Command is committed in carrying out its mandate of enforcing civil law and order which includes protection of lives and safe guarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure at all levels.
“Kano State Commandant is working round the clock to ensuring zero -tolerance to all forms of economic sabotages, hence we will resist any attempt to sabotage the nation’s available resources”, he warned.
