Zamfara State board of internal has assured to generate N11 billion as Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) for the year 2022.
The Chairman of the Board Ali-Akilu Dama, disclosed this while speaking to newsmen after defending the 2022 budget proposal of the board in the state house of assembly.
He explained that,the remittance of the revenue was categorize into two, collection from government Ministries and Agencies collection from the internal revenue, those from MDA's collection are remittance to the board and collect their percentage.
"Based on the recent measures introduced by the board, we hope to improve our revenue generation in 2022 as a result of the improvement on security and socio-economic development of the state", he added
“We are expecting more revenue from various sectors of development in 2022, if the government Agency, business, Schools and other Various activities improve in this new year 2022", he added.
" The issue On the personnel cost of the board which includes workers’ salaries, promotion and allowances for the year 2022, we proposed over N123 million, while for the overhead cost, we proposed over N481 million,” Dama said.
"On the capital project of the board, Dama said about N135 million was earmarked for the renovation and reconstruction of three zonal offices of the board across the senatorial districts of the state,” he added.
Akilu further said that, this year 2021 the board was able to generate N3.5 billion from January to date out of the N5 billion proposed for 2021 budget.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Special Duties depends it's budget, which proposed N70 million for the year 2022 budget, The Commissioner, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Nahuce, explained the Ministry has no responsible of construction or carried out project but Only Special program when it's arises.
Meanwhile Ministry of land and Survey and it's parastatel also depend their proposal which air mark 700Million for the purchases and other properties of Survey equipment, while ZAGIS Proposes 500Million.
On his Remarks, Chairman Zamfara State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation,Hon Shamsudeen Hassan-Basko (APC, Talata-Mafara North), explained that, the Assembly is laying emphasis on International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS) compliance in the 2022 budget appropriation bill.
Hassan Basko said, the assembly is based on realistic and good performance in the 2022 budget.
"We don’t want a situation where we allocate funds for MDAs but at the end of the year it record low performance, The MDAs should focus on projects that can be executed by the state government, he added.

“We are also emphasizing on revenue generation, before we clear a proposal from each ministry, we have to check its performance on revenue generation for the state,” the lawmaker explained”, Hassan added.
The Chairman House Committee on Finance assured the block leakages of all revenue generating in other the IGR increase in the State.
"Their is no Justification to Some government MDA's collecting Revenue but spending them on their personal needs" Basko lamented.
