The Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR (Mutawallen Sokoto), has approved the appointment of Malam Shehu Ahmad as the General Manager, Sokoto Newspaper Company.
This followed the recommendation by the Ministry of Information to that effect.
He has been Acting as the General Manager of the Company since the retirement of Alh. Muhammad Umar in January 2020. A holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Malam Shehu Ahmad is a pioneer staff of the Newspaper Company employed in 1992. He rose from a Reporter to Editor, Jagora Newspaper and Editor, The Path Newspaper.
He is substantively a Grade Level 16 officer.
The Commissioner of Information, Alh. Isah Bajini Galadanci, extends his congratulations to the newly appointed General Manager and urged him to use his years of experience in the Company to turn it around and make the Newspaper compete favourably with other Newspapers in the country. The appointment is with immediate effect.
