The Zamfara state Commissioner of Information Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Dosara expressed state government readiness to partner with State Malaria Elimination programme (SMEP) Committee in the fight against Malaria.
The Commissioner make his words when he received a committee for Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) who paid him a Courtesy visit in his office.
He explained that, awareness is the only way that will help in reducing the risk of Malaria on the pregnant women and Children under 5 years which are on the high risk of getting it.
Dosara said that, special programmes would be introduced for creating awareness against Malaria in all the media organizations across the state.
The enlightenment programmes will includes Jingles and other programmes that will be of great benefit in creating awareness towards achieving the needed goals” the commissioner said
According to him, as one of the primary functions of his Ministry, whatever the Committee needed in the ongoing campaign against Malaria would be provided with immediate effect with a view to ensuring the overall success of the programme.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Committee ACSM Barrister Bashar Garba Gusau said that, they are at the Ministry to Congratulate the Commissioner and to inform him the Mission of the Committee Under SMEP, Ministry of health.
According to him over 90% Success of this Committee was from the Information Ministry which is highly appreciated and Commendable.
The chairman appeal to the Ministry of Information to carried out some awareness programme in various Media House across the state.
He further stated that, at this period SMC Malaria drugs are been administering to children under five years (5), which two Cycle have been done in July and August, while the remaining two Cycles need a lot of media campaign.
Barrister Bashir Garba, also said, the Committee of ACSM Comprises with the representative from Information Ministry and Media House in the state with aimed of creating awareness on Malaria risk in the Society.
